Museum Square set for Urban Sports Week

It's heating up for urban action at Urban Sports Week Amsterdam 2016 with the announcement of new venues for the five-day urban sports event.

During the Urban Sports Week events will be held at multiple venues across the city, covering almost all of Amsterdam’s neighborhoods. So far more than ten venues have been confirmed, with more locations to be announced soon.


Museum Square and Beursplein are two of the most iconic locations featuring on the program of Urban Sports Week Amsterdam. The famous Museum Square will host events in inline skating, skateboarding and basketball. Beursplein will be one of the spots for freerunning. Here a temporary course will be installed for the Dutch Freerunning Championships.


Other confirmed enues include the Marnixbowl, Thorbeckeplein, Olympiaplein. At all these venues permanent structures will be supplemented with extra obstacles.


For 3x3 basketball and Panna numerous locations will be used. Besides the Museum Square, streetball action is taking place at the Ceintuurbaan, Oranje-Vrijstaatplein and ArenA Boulevard. Panna matches will be payed at Iepenplein, Balboaplein and Surinameplein.
