At the Urban Sports Week there is plenty to do for younger and older kids. You can take part in workshops, follow clinics or watch the most amazing demos!
All activities and events are free of charge and there is no need to register. So get out there and have fun!
Friday April 29 (13:00-19:00)
The Oranje Vrijstaatplein in Amsterdam East will be the place to be for basketball fans on Friday April 29. From 1 PM kids and their parents are welcome to take part in open court sessions. There will be clinics and contests and freestyle basketballers will show some amazing tricks!
At the end of the afternoon the best 3x3 school teams of Amsterdam are taking over the courts. They will battle it out in the Topscore 3x3 Tournament, with the winners qualifying for the prestigious Streetball Masters Amsterdam tournament!
Friday April 29 (13:00-16:00)
On Friday afternoon you are welcome to try your freerunning skills! Experienced freerunners and freerunning instructors are giving workshops at the temporary temporary playground for freerunning and parkour which is set up by Yalp at the Wibautstraat.
Starting at 1PM every hour a workshop will begin. Both adults and children can join and learn the basics of freerunning. In the workshops you’ll be introduced into climbing, jumping and swinging. This may be the start of your freerun career.
Sunday May 1 (13:00-18:00)
If you’re an inline skater, BMX rider or skateboarder looking for ways to improve your skills and learn new tricks, than you should definitely come to the Westerpark on Sunday May 1! At the TonTon Club you can enjoy shows and take part yourself in workshops for inline skating, BMX and skateboarding. Try out the mobile skatepark and it’s big ramp. Do you have what it takes to jump the gap?
Monday May 2 (10:00-18:00)
If you love inline skating there is no better place to start your vacation than at Olympiaplein! The boys of Thisissoul are bringing you a full day of inline action and cool activities. What about racing, jumping, street hockey and a demo by pro skaters!
Beginners are welcome to join the fun. No skates? No problem! Free rental is provided.
Monday May 2 (11:00-19:00)
The ArenA Boulevard will be buzzing with kids, enjoying their spring holidays on May 2. Outside the Decathlon ArenA store a kids sports zone will be set up on the last day of Urban Sports Week Amsterdam. All day long all sorts of sports materials can be tried out here. You can ride the newest BMX bikes and try inline skates, skateboards and scooters. Bring your friends and spend a day full of fun and sports at the Decathlon Urban Kids Sport Zone!
