Get ready for 12 hours of uninterrupted urban sports action on the second day of USWA, with 16 events on today’s schedule. During the day you can follow the latest highlights, results, amazing images and info on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
The action starts early with skatelessons at Olympiaplein. This square in Amsterdam-Zuid is where you need to be this week if you’re into inline skating. There are free lessons by pros all day long, with no need to register in advance!
More inline action is taking place at the Museum Square, with the NK Spine Ramp. This is where you’ll see the likes of Jaro Frijn, Randy Zoller, Sven Boekhorst, Erik Droogh showing what they've got!
At the end of the day you’ll see these guys racing on inline skates through Amsterdam. Get Out The Way is a race from Museum Square to Westerpark, with the competitors completing assignments and posting clips on Instagram. The finish is expected around 9pm at the Westerpark.
If you're looking for BMX action, head for the Marnix Bowl. For today's BMX Championships Park extra features have been added to this famous venue. This event promises to be one of Friday's highlights.
You may have catched some BMX Flatland action already on Thursday during the opening of USWA at the Westergasfabriek. There will be much more Flatland fun today. Come and see these ‘ballerinas on bikes’ and enjoy the spectacular show. Qualifying starts at 2 pm, the finals will begin 8.30 pm at the Zuiveringshal.
Throughout the day there will be all sorts of great events in Panna, Freerunning and 3x3 basketball. The Oranje Vrijstaatplein is the place to be for basketball fans today. From 1 PM kids and parents can take part in open court sessions. There will be clinics and contests and freestyle basketballers will show some amazing tricks. At the end of the afternoon the best 3x3 school teams of Amsterdam are taking over the courts. They will battle it out in the Topscore 3x3 Tournament.
Looking for an active way to start your weekend? At 6 pm you can join a 7.5 km SUP tour starting and finishing at the Westergasfabriek. There are 15 boards available for people who want to join, but you are also welcome to bring your own board. Bringing a wetsuit is recommended, as the water is still pretty cold. Some previous SUP experience is required. Sign up via: firstname.lastname@example.org
The best place to finish this packed day of urban sports is obviously at the Urban Scene Party at WesterUnie!
