Moco wants to make a wide range of modern and contemporary art available to the public. Moco focuses on proven pioneers and protagonists, the so-called” Rock Stars of Art” within various art movements. The deep involvement in street art fits perfectly with the street sports of USWA. With exciting exhibitions and high-profile guest curators, Moco fulfils the need of a large audience. They wish to take a glance into the art world which is usually hidden to the public.
By opening the museum’s garden for the guests of USWA and the FIBA Europe Cup, the venue does just that, explains Museum Director Kim Logchies: “We feel connected with urban sports. Although the scene is rapidly growing, we can relate to the pioneers of the sport as we focus on proven pioneers in art. By being part of the USWA we specifically want to introduce a broader audience to art and show them the beauty of it.”
Guests of partners and sponsors of the event will be welcomed in Moco’s garden. They will be offered a tour of the museum and have a drink before watching several basketball matches at the centre court.
Marco Gerris, artistic director ISH Dance Collective and Ambassador of USWA is pleased with the cooperation: "Sport, Art and Lifestyle come together during the USWA. Working with Moco gives us the opportunity to introduce young visitors of USWA to art. Moco is a great museum and is located at Museum Square in the heart of Amsterdam. It perfectly fits the values of USWA. I love visiting the museum and look forward to this partnership!"
