In 2017, urban sport fans and 100,000 people from all over the world enjoyed the best of urban sports at multiple locations throughout the city. The weather was beautiful during all four days. Especially during the finals FIBA 3X3 Europe Cup basketball, finals BMX and finals skateboarding. During peak hours there were 15,000 people at the Museumplein.
In 2018, the Urban Sports Week will return in a slightly different version. This year, the event will collaborate with StreetStyleCon. StreetstyleCon is an Urban Lifestyle Convention where all basics comes together: fashion, music, multimedia, technology, and food.
This year an extensive and exciting program will take place. From fashion shows of various urban brands and national & international major Hip Hop artists performing life on stage, there’s no doubt the event will have strong international appeal. With a 3on3 Streetball competition, a sales point of unique sneakers, an obstacle platform for free runners, skaters & BMX'ers, the latest electronic games workshop and meet 'n greet with famous athletes, singers, dancers & influencers, the RAI Amsterdam is the place to be in July.
In hosting events like StreetStyleCon and the Urban Sports Week, the city of Amsterdam shows what it has to offer as urban sports city. Athletes are given a stage to show their skills to the public. Moreover, fans have a chance to see the best national and international athletes in action. The exact composition of the program will be announced in the weeks to come.
About Urban Sport Week Amsterdam 2018:
From July 13-15, Amsterdam is the stage for the third edition of the Urban Sports Week Amsterdam (USWA). RAI Amsterdam is the home of a wide variety of events, varying from competitions to demo’s and clinics in Urban Sports such as; BMX, Inline skating, skateboarding, freerunning and bouldering. During USWA, urban sports, lifestyle and culture come together. The USWA is an initiative from the government of Amsterdam, Topsport Amsterdam, TIG Sports and urban communities from the city of Amsterdam.
The Urban Sports Week Amsterdam aims to promote physical activity among children. In in the last two years, 50 schools participated each year in the Urban Sports Week in some way. By the Topscore program set up by the municipality of Amsterdam 75% of secondary schools in Amsterdam covered urban sports in the weeks leading up to the event.

Streetstylecon (www.streetstylecon.com) is an event with multiple areas that will attract a wide audience within the various segments by combining the street culture & lifestyle of today. Visitor will experience a once in a lifetime mix of Fashion, Sports. Beauty, Dance battles, Gaming and various live Shows. Next to various artist, meet and greet moments, we will organize in partnership with the City of Amsterdam and Urban Sports Week Amsterdam a special Free to all School Friday. Here students from 300+ schools will visit the event and engage in different types of workshop, master classes and competitions. This alone makes StreetstyleCon a unique event. SSC is not only a marketplace or convention or festival. StreetstyleCon aims to create a unique experience with a high entertainment level.
